How We Price Your Gold
Tested, weighed and priced in front of you.
A stamp is a claim, not proof. Every piece is checked at the counter where you can see it, and the number you are offered comes from three things you can watch being measured: purity, weight and the market price on the day.
Sorted by karat
We separate your pieces into 10k, 14k, 18k and 22k groups, because gold of different karats is worth a different amount per gram.
Tested at the counter
Electronic testing reads the metal without marking it, and acid testing on a touchstone confirms the karat where needed. If a piece is plated rather than solid, we tell you and hand it back.
Weighed facing you
Each karat group goes on a calibrated scale on the counter, in grams, facing you. Not in a back room and not later.
Priced on today's market
We show you the gold price we are working from, and you are welcome to check it on your phone. You get one number per karat group and a total, with the maths shown.
