This policy explains how Kelowna Gold Buyers collects, uses and protects personal information through this website, kelownagoldbuyers.com, and when you sell to us in our office. Information we collect

Estimate requests

When you send an estimate request through the form on our contact page, we collect your name, phone number, email address and the message you write. We use it to respond to your request and arrange your visit.

When you sell to us

As licensed buyers we record every purchase against government-issued photo ID, which protects honest sellers and keeps stolen goods out of the market.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people found us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser. It does not give us your name or contact details. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Security and spam protection

This website is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses and request details to protect the site from attacks and keep it fast. Submissions to our estimate form are checked for spam, which can include Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that confirms a submission comes from a person. Submissions that look like spam are blocked, and a short record of blocked attempts is kept so a genuine message blocked by mistake can be found. Our security software also records the IP address of sign-in attempts to the site's administration area.

How we use and share it

We use your information to respond to you, to complete purchases, and to run and protect this website. We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this website for us, such as our web host, Cloudflare, Google Analytics and the email delivery service that sends your estimate request to our team, and only so they can provide that service, or where the law requires us to. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. People who sign in to manage the website also receive sign-in cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep estimate requests for as long as we need them to respond to you and for our ordinary business records, and purchase records for as long as we need them as licensed buyers. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you. To make a request, call +1 (250) 860-0096 or use our contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
